Staff at Workwell Occupational Medicine, LLC

Our staff members at Workwell are all highly qualified and experienced in occupational medicine. Our physicians are board certified and Level II accredited, meaning they are specifically trained in the administrative, legal, and medical aspects of the workers’ compensation program in Colorado. They are all approachable and professional, making it easy for you and your employees to feel comfortable throughout the claim process. Our goal is to take care of your employees so they can return to work. At the same time, we help you protect your business. We know how to navigate the rules and regulations of the workers’ compensation system, and our staff members will provide assistance in any way they can.

Corporate Leadership

With decades of diverse experience, and a deep understanding of Workers’ Compensation in Colorado, the Leadership Team guides patient care across its eight clinics in Colorado’s Front Range. From attracting and retaining the finest medical talent, to overseeing its comfortable, conveniently located ambulatory clinics, each member of this team holds themselves accountable for ensuring access to state-of-the art care in the field of occupational medicine. Recently acquired by Phoenix-based Medicine for Business and Industry (MBI), the focus of the group continues to be on the highest levels of clinical best practice and structured treatment methodologies to ensure optimal outcomes for employers and employees in Northern Colorado, the Denver Metro area and Colorado Springs.

Judy Peinado, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Judy joined Workwell in 1999 as a Front Office Specialist.  Over the years, she has displayed her ability to manage complex situations and be a leader within our organization.  She has held a variety of positions within the company, including managing the Longmont clinic. She is also bilingual and DOT/BAT Certified. Judy is a Colorado native. She enjoys traveling with her husband and visiting local restaurants as an epicure.

Krissy Edwards, CONTROLLER

Krissy joined Workwell in April 2016 as our Corporate Controller. She has full responsibility over the financial operations of Workwell Occupational Medicine, LLC. Under her leadership, our Central Business Office has transformed to integrate the referrals, billing, medical record, and legal departments. Her prior experience and relationships in the banking industry have shaped the company into a very stable and successful competitive player. She has a B.S. in Accounting from Franklin University and a master’s degree in Professional Accounting from CSU Global.  Krissy is a Colorado native and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.

SUSIE CHEN, REGIONAL SALES DIRECTOR

Susie joined MBI/Workwell in 2016.  She earned her B.S. Marketing with a minor in Communication and International Business at Arizona State University in 2004.  With more than 10 years’ experience in Occupational Healthcare coupled with a hard work ethic, Susie is a knowledgeable, respected leader, dedicated to partnering occupational medicine to business needs. Susie is a devoted mother to her kids and enjoy traveling with them to give them the opportunity to see the world.

AMEE WISNER, HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Amee joined MBI/Workwell in March 2021 and brings nearly 10 years of management and HR related experience with her. She earned her B.S. in Exercise Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a Master’s in Human Resource Management from CSU Global. When she is not working, she spends her time driving her four kids to dance and baseball practice.

Chris Traut PT, DPT – Director of Rehabilitative Services

Chris has over 20 years of experience in Orthopedics, including the last 10 in Industrial Health.  He has served as a leader in both the for profit and non-profit settings. Chris earned his doctorate in physical therapy from A.T. Still University, is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Specialists, and a board certified orthopedic specialist.  He also holds certifications in Functional Dry Needling, Vestibular Rehabilitation, and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment. Being an active Clinical Instructor (CI), Chris has served as a CI to nearly 30 doctoral students in the past 5 years.  He received the University of Colorado Clinical Instructor of the year award in 2020, and was nationally recognized as a CI in 2021.  He has also logged thousands of hours as a manual therapy mentor for the Manual Therapy Institute.
